Analyze the differences between optical fiber jumper and optical fiber pigtail

Time:2022-12-13 Views:

Fiber optic patch cords are generally used to get the patch cords from the equipment to the fiber optic cabling link. With a deep peripheral layer, it is usually the interface between the optical transceiver and the terminal box.

Pigtail actually can be called pigtail. One end has a port head, but the other end is a broken end of an optical fiber core. It is connected to other optical fiber cores through welding and always occurs in the optical fiber terminal box to connect the optical fiber cable and optical fiber transceiver (including couplers and jumpers).

Optical fiber connector is generated from the equipment that can assemble (move) the interface between optical fiber and optical fiber. At the same time, it perfectly connects the two interface surfaces of optical fiber, so that the optical energy transmitted by the optical fiber can be coupled to the receiving optical fiber to a large extent, and at the same time, the impact on the system caused by its involvement in the optical link can be minimized. This is the lowest level of optical fiber connector at this time. Of course, within a certain range, optical fiber connectors will also have certain factors on the reliability and various performances of optical transmission networks.

When the optical cable is moved in from the outside, the optical cable needs to be in the fused optical cable box, which is called the terminal box. The fusion of the optical cable involves the technical level. This requires the optical cable to be torn open, the tail fiber and the fine fiber in the optical cable to be fused, and then placed in the box after fusion, so the so-called tail fiber is integrated, The external end of the optical fiber is placed on the ODF (a shelf, connected with a coupler). The other side of the shelf is still connected with a pigtail (in other words, it is OK to make optical fiber jumpers, which is simply called optical fiber jumpers). The pigtail is connected to the photoelectric converter, and the optical transceiver is connected with the router - switch - LAN - host
