Fiber adapters can be divided into SC, FC, and ST.

SC stands for Standard Connector.

ST stands for Straight Tip.

FC stands for Fiber Connector.

The parts before/indicate the pigtail connector model.

"SC" joint is a standard square joint, made of engineering plastic, with the advantages of high temperature resistance, not easy oxidation. The optical interface on the transmission device side usually uses an SC connector.

The "LC" connector is similar in shape to the SC connector, but smaller than the SC connector.

The "FC" connector is a metal connector, generally used on the ODF side. The number of times the metal connector can be pluggable is more than that of the plastic connector.

Connectors have many types of signals, including MTRJ, ST, and MU, in addition to the three types described above. For details, see the following figure.

"PC" is most widely used in telecom operators' equipment, and its connector section is flat.

UPC has a lower decay than PC. It is generally used for equipment with special needs. Some foreign manufacturers use FC/UPC for the internal hop fiber of ODF frame, mainly to improve the indicators of ODF equipment.
