1. Bandwidth




The data rate has changed from 10M to 100M fast Ethernet and 1G gigabit Ethernet. At present, 10G gigabit Ethernet has been applied to the backbone of LAN. Especially in intelligent parks, including large campuses, industrial parks, development zones and super large residential areas, the case of selecting 10 gigabit Ethernet in the backbone network of the LAN is not unique. As for 100M and 1G Ethernet, they have been widely used in the LAN of intelligent buildings.




2. Bus type star path structure




Ethernet people sharing type has developed to switching type, and its topology has developed from bus type to star type. The reliability, implementability and maintainability of the star structure are better than the bus structure. The star structure also promotes the development of generic cabling technology. At present, Ethernet can form a loop structure, which further improves the reliability of transmission.




3. Category VII cabling system




As early as 2000, ISO/IEC has identified GG45 and GP45 connectors as the preferred connectors for Category 7 cabling. Its standard is 60603-7-7. Its excellent transmission performance and design that can provide downward compatibility with Category 6 and Category 5 connectors have been recognized by international authoritative organizations, and have passed the certification of the third generation authoritative laboratories such as DELTA and 3P.




Another practical problem of seven types of cabling is about system testing. So far, Fluke, Angient, Ideal and other test manufacturers have launched seven types of test equipment. In the next few years, copper cable and optical cable will still coexist, instead of being replaced by optical fiber as people imagine. The optical cable through 10G Ethernet technology may gradually replace the core layer and the convergence layer, while the Category 6 and Category 7 Fengxian lines will dominate the network cabling connected to the old layer.





4. The selection of Category 5 and Category 6 cabling depends on the network transformation of gigabit protocol




1000BASE-TX comes into the market. If users with high application needs switch to gigabit Ethernet in this time network framework, the deployment cost of 1000BASE-TX for Category 6 cabling is low. If gigabit Ethernet is included in the network transformation, the 1000BASE-TX with low cost will facilitate the deployment of gigabit Ethernet.
