At the same time that China Telecom has quietly opened its broadband deployment, pilot projects have also blossomed everywhere. For example, Guangdong has introduced broadband based on optical fiber. Originally, ADSL was only based on copper wire, and can only provide a maximum speed of 12M. In the next three years, ADSL will be gradually delisted in Guangdong, and broadband Internet access will be fully optical, with a speed of at least 100M, and even 1000M for government and enterprise customers.

However, gigabit broadband is still in the conceptual stage. In China, from 512 kbps to 2 mbps, the bandwidth has been accelerated four times, but it took nearly five years. However, according to Infonetics' latest prediction, Chinese operators will also introduce gigabit FTTH in 2018.
