First look at the production logo. A good fiber optic transceiver should contain the following information: the manufacturer's name, business name, trademark or other identifying mark. In addition, there are clear model code, model specifications and so on. Inferior fiber optic transceivers are not clearly identified.

Next, look at the transmission distance. The optical fiber transceiver supports a complete transmission distance (0 to 120 kilometers), whether it is single-mode or multi-mode, there is a certain transmission distance. And inferior fiber optic transceivers may not meet the common transmission requirements in terms of transmission distance.

Finally, test by connecting the fiber. Check whether the indicator light of the optical fiber transceiver or the optical module and the indicator light of the twisted pair port are flashing abnormally. If the light is flashing, stop using the transceiver.


The use of high-quality fiber optic transceivers can ensure the stable operation of data transmission, and the use of inferior fiber optic transceivers is greedy for cheapness, which will bring inconvenience and cause unnecessary losses in the later stage.
