1. For direct burial of optical cables for outdoor use, armored optical cables should be selected; for overhead use, optical cables with black plastic outer sheath with two or more reinforcing ribs can be selected;

2. For the vertical wiring in the building, the layer-stranded optical cable can be selected; for the horizontal wiring, the branch optical cable can be selected;

3. When fiber optic cables are used in buildings, attention should be paid to the selection of their flame-retardant, toxic and smoke-proof properties. Pipes and forced ventilation places can generally choose flame-retardant and smoke-proof type, and the exposure environment should use flame-retardant type, smoke-free type and non-toxic type;

4. If the transmission distance is less than 2km, multi-mode optical cable can be used; if it exceeds 2km, repeater or single-mode optical cable can be used.
