Optical cable manufacturers analyze the statistical forecast of China's optical fiber and cable production

Time:2022-03-10 Views:

According to the "Optical Fiber and Cable Industry Development Prospects and Investment Forecast Analysis Report" released by the Prospective Industry Research Institute, China's optical fiber output reached 364 million core kilometers in 2017, a year-on-year increase of 15.7%, accounting for 65% of global output. With the expansion of application scenarios such as smart cities, unmanned driving, and the Internet of Things in China, it is expected that the market demand for optical fibers in China will further expand.

With the government's informatization construction policy, the development of consumer information consumption habits, the expansion of operator market network construction, and the development of optical communication technology, the development of the global and Chinese optical cable industry has been continuously promoted. In 2017, China's optical cable output reached 322 million, a year-on-year increase of 16.3%. It is expected that China's optical cable output will reach 386 million core kilometers in 2018, a year-on-year increase of 19.8%.

The era of 5G Internet of Things is coming, and "5G base station densification + fronthaul fiber network" opens up new growth space for optical fibers. In the context of global operators rushing to 5G, these optical fiber demands are expected to arrive ahead of schedule. At present, investment in optical fiber networks is accelerating for the deployment of 5G worldwide, which will inevitably promote the rise of global optical fiber volume and price, and also directly promote the scale and production expansion of optical fiber and cable enterprises. my country's per capita optical fiber ownership is still far lower than that of developed countries. At the end of 2016, the penetration rate of optical fiber broadband users was only 72%, while South Korea had reached 93% in 2008, and Japan was 90% in 2010. Compared with the world's leading level, China still has a big gap and huge development potential.
