1. Color identification
Single-mode fiber: common single-mode fiber jumpers use yellow wire
Multimode fiber: common multimode fiber patch cords use orange or gray wire body
2. Name correspondence
There are several types of fiber jumpers encountered in common engineering projects:
SC type: Its outer casing is rectangular, and the fastening method is a plug-and-pull type, which does not need to be rotated. (It is most used on routers and switches, and is also commonly used on many telecom and mobile patch panels)
2. FC type
FC type: The external reinforcement method is a metal sleeve, and the fastening method is a turnbuckle. Generally used on ODF (most used on patch panels)
3. ST type
ST type: commonly used in optical fiber distribution frame, the outer shell is round, and the fastening method is turnbuckle. (This model is the type that I am most afraid of installing, especially on many old devices, it is difficult to disassemble and assemble)
4. LC type
LC type: commonly used to connect optical modules, namely SFP modules, it is made with a modular jack (RJ) latch mechanism that is easy to operate. (Commonly used in routers and Layer 3 switches)
5. MTRJ type
MT-RJ type: It has the same latching mechanism as the RJ-45 type LAN electrical connector. The optical fiber is aligned with the guide pins installed on both sides of the small sleeve. Designed for double-core (0.75mm spacing) arrangement, it is the next-generation high-density fiber optic connector mainly used for data transmission.
