For example, for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) cables, the upper limit of the core temperature is 70 degrees, and the surface temperature will be 5 to 10 degrees lower. Therefore, the surface temperature of the cable is basically safe below 60 degrees. From the perspective of power supply maintenance, of course, the lower the temperature, the better.

The reasons for the heating of the cable in progress are as follows:

1. The cable conductor resistance does not meet the requirements, causing the cable to generate heat during operation.

2. Improper selection of cable models, resulting in that the conductor cross-section of the used cable is too small, and overload occurs during operation. After long-term use, the heating and heat dissipation of the cable are unbalanced, resulting in a heating phenomenon.

3. The cables are arranged too densely during installation, the ventilation and heat dissipation effect is not good, or the cables are too close to other heat sources, which affects the normal heat dissipation of the cables, and may also cause the cables to generate heat during the process.

4. The joint manufacturing technology is not good, the crimping is not tight, and the touch resistance at the joint is too large, which will also cause the cable to generate heat.

5. The insulation performance between the phases of the cable is not good, the insulation resistance is small, and the phenomenon of heating will occur during operation.

6. The partial sheath of the armored cable is damaged. After entering the water, it will cause a slow destruction effect on the insulation performance, resulting in a gradual decrease in the insulation resistance, which will also cause heating during the operation of the cable.

After the heating of the cable occurs, if the cause is not found and the fault is eliminated in time, the insulation thermal breakdown will occur after the cable continues to run continuously. The phenomenon of phase-to-phase short-circuit tripping occurs in the cable, which may cause a fire in serious cases.

Reasons and solutions for the heating of the plug power cord

Power cords can be seen everywhere in family life, and electrical appliances are basically inseparable from power cords. This small power cord cannot be despised.

The heating of the power cord plug of the water heater is usually caused by the poor cooperation with the socket. At the same time, the normal heating phenomenon should be considered. If the surface temperature of the plug is less than the ambient temperature plus 50 degrees Celsius, it is normal. If it is abnormally hot, you need to consider replacing the socket or check the cooperation between the plug and the socket.

3. The old plug is used for a long time, and the insulation performance is reduced (or the plug is loose).

The main reason for the heating of the plug wire is that the electrical equipment uses electricity for a long time, which aggravates the load of the wire. For the special multi-function socket, if several high-power electrical devices are connected at the same time, the power cord of the socket must be overloaded, and in that case, it is very easy to burn out the wire. Therefore, in life, we should pay attention to the reasonable distribution of electricity, and regularly check the plugs and sockets to see if the wires are old and the contact between the plugs and sockets is not good. Sometimes due to the inaccurate process in the production department, the wire end of the plug will not be firm, so the plug will heat up due to poor touch when plugging in the power supply. At the same time, every household should pay attention to the fact that the plug will become old when used for a long time, and the insulation performance will also be reduced, so it should be replaced in time.
