Filler paste compatibility is a particularly important characteristic for cable life. Compatibility is to investigate whether the ointment will swell to other materials and reduce the performance when it is in contact with other substances in the optical cable for a long time, and whether it will cause corrosion to other materials.


To ensure the compatibility of the optical fiber filler paste with other materials, in addition to a large number of tests, it is very important to ensure that the formulation of the paste is reasonable, the material is stable, and the production process is strictly controlled, and it is also the key to determine the cost and price. For example, fiber paste generally uses paraffin-based hydrogenated oil as the base oil, and most of them use imported raw materials (stable performance). The cable paste uses domestic naphthenic-intermediate hydrogenated oil as the base oil (the price is lower).
