The structure of the fiber optic cable

As we all know, an optical cable is an optical information transmission medium composed of optical fibers, polymer materials, metal-plastic composite tapes and metal reinforcements.


       The main point of the structure design of the optical cable is to give the optical fiber protection against external mechanical force, temperature change, water action, etc.


       Figure 1 shows the cross-sectional view of the GYTY53+333-layer stranded steel tape longitudinally-wrapped double-layer steel wire armored optical cable with the most types of materials.
