Troubleshooting methods for optical fiber network

Time:2022-11-28 Views:

1. First, check whether the indicator of the optical transceiver or optical module and the twisted pair port are on?

a. If the optical port (FX) indicator of the transceiver is not lit, please confirm whether the optical link is cross linked? The optical fiber jumper at end A is connected in parallel; The B end is connected in cross mode.

b. If the optical port (FX) indicator of the A-end transceiver is on, and the optical port (FX) indicator of the B-end transceiver is not on, the fault lies in the A-end transceiver: one possibility is that the optical transmission port of the A-end transceiver (TX) is broken, because the optical port (RX) of the B-end transceiver cannot receive optical signals; Another possibility is that there is a problem with the optical fiber link of the A-end transceiver (TX) optical transmission port (the optical cable or optical jumper may be broken).

c. The twisted pair (TP) indicator is not lit. Please confirm whether the twisted pair is connected incorrectly or not? Please use the on-off tester to detect; (However, the twisted pair indicator of some transceivers must not be lit until the optical fiber link is connected. See IMC Optical Fiber Transceiver Debugging Manual on the website)

d. Some transceivers have two RJ45 ports: (To HUB) indicates that the connecting line to the switch is a straight through line; (To Node) indicates that the connection line connecting the switch is a cross line;

e. Some transceivers have an MPR switch on the side, which indicates that the connecting line to the switch is a straight through line; DTE switch: the connection line connecting the switch is a cross line mode.

2. Are optical cables and optical fiber jumpers broken?

a. Optical cable on-off detection: use laser flashlight, sunlight and illuminant to light one end of the optical cable connector or coupler; Look for visible light at the other end? Visible light indicates that the optical cable is not broken.

b. On/off detection of optical fiber connection: use laser flashlight, sunlight and illuminant to illuminate one end of optical fiber jumper; Look for visible light at the other end? If there is visible light, the optical fiber jumper is not broken.
