Types of fiber optic cables

Time:2022-07-27 Views:

1. Classified by transmission performance, distance and use. It can be divided into long-distance optical cable, local optical cable, submarine optical cable and user optical cable.

2, according to the type of fiber classification. It can be divided into multi-mode optical cable and single-mode optical cable.

3. According to the fiber covering method. It can be divided into tight sleeve optical cable, loose sleeve optical cable, bundled tube optical cable and ribbon multi-core unit optical cable.

4. According to the number of fiber cores. It can be divided into single-core optical cable, double-core optical cable, four-core optical cable, six-core optical cable, eight-core optical cable, twelve-core optical cable and twenty-four-core optical cable.

5. According to the configuration method of the reinforcement, the optical cable can be divided into the optical cable of the central reinforcement member (such as the stranded optical cable, the skeleton optical cable, etc.), the optical cable of the scattered reinforcement member (such as the reinforced optical cable on both sides of the bundle tube and the flat optical cable), and the sheath reinforcement member. Optical cable (such as bundled steel wire armored optical cable) and PE outer sheath plus a certain amount of thin steel wire composite outer sheath optical cable.

6, according to the laying method classification. Optical cables can be divided into pipeline optical cables, direct buried optical cables, overhead optical cables and underwater optical cables.

7. Classification according to the nature of the protective layer material. Optical cable can be divided into polyethylene sheathed ordinary optical cable, PVC sheathed flame retardant optical cable and nylon anti-ant and mouse-resistant optical cable.

8. Classified by transmission conductor and medium condition. Optical cables can be divided into metal-free optical cables, ordinary optical cables and integrated optical cables.

9. According to the structure, optical cables can be divided into flat structure optical cables, layered structure optical cables, skeleton structure optical cables, armored structure optical cables (including single and double armored) and high-density user optical cables.

10. Commonly used communication optical cables can be divided into

(1) Indoor (field) outdoor optical cable - optical cable used for outdoor direct burial, pipeline, channel, tunnel, overhead and underwater laying.

(2) Flexible optical cable - a movable optical cable with excellent flexural properties.

(3) Optical cables in rooms (offices) - optical cables suitable for indoor deployment.

(4) Optical cable in equipment - optical cable used for laying in equipment.

(5) Submarine optical cable - optical cable for transoceanic laying.

(6) Special optical cables - optical cables for special purposes other than the above categories
