In the actual use of optical fiber transceivers, most attention is paid to the different categories of optical fiber connectors: SC connector optical fiber transceivers, ST connector optical fiber transceivers, and LC interface optical fiber transceivers.

When connecting different devices with optical fiber transceivers, it must be noted that the ports used are different.

1. Connection of optical transceiver to 100BASE-TX equipment (switch, hub):

Confirm that the maximum length of twisted pair shall not exceed 100m;

Connect one end of the twisted pair to RJ-45 port (Uplink port) of the optical transceiver, and the other end to RJ-45 port (common port) of the 100BASE-TX device (switch, hub).

2. Connection of optical transceiver to 100BASE-TX device (network card):

Confirm that the maximum length of twisted pair shall not exceed 100m;

Connect one end of the twisted pair to RJ-45 port (100BASE-TX port) of the optical transceiver, and the other end to RJ-45 port of the network card.

3. Connection of optical transceiver to 100BASE-FX:

Confirm that the optical fiber length does not exceed the distance range provided by the equipment;

One end of the optical fiber is connected to the SC/ST connector of the optical transceiver, and the other end is connected to the SC/ST connector of the 100BASE-FX equipment
